This course is for those who might have to identify and manage emergency situations or manage minor everyday occurrences when looking after children (defined as up to puberty). This qualification meets Ofsted requirements for those working in early years settings and uses the criteria for effective paediatric first aid training found in Appendix 1 of The Early Years Foundation Stags (EYFS) Practice Guidance document .

The current EYFS statutory framework requires at least one person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate to be on the premises or outings at all times when children are present.

Who should attend

This course is for people working with young people, i.e. Teachers, Child-minders, Youth Workers.

You simply need a room large enough to not only seat everyone but also to allow them to lie on the floor and be rolled around without bumping into furniture or each other.

Directions to Long Buckby

From M1 motorway — from South

• Exit at Junction 16

• Follow A45 Daventry to traffic lights at Weedon

• Turn right onto the A5

• Follow the A5 north for 5 miles to crossroads

• Turn right to Long Buckby Wharf

• Turn left into green gated yard and we are directly in front of you.

From M1 Motorway — from North

• Exit at Junction 18

• Take A428 towards Northampton

• Bypass West Haddon following the A428

• After 2.5 miles turn right to Long Buckby, drive through Long Buckby Down Station Road into Long Buckby Wharf

• Turn left into green gated yard and we are directly in front of you.

From Northampton

• Follow A428 towards Rugby

• After about 9 miles turn left to Long Buckby, drive through Long Buckby Down Station Road into Long Buckby Wharf

Long Buckby is also accessible by train and bus.


Tea and Coffee will be provided throughout the day. Lunch may be booked, alternatively you can bring your own packed lunch.


Please ensure you are wearing comfortable clothing, this is an active and practical course. We recommend tracksuit bottoms a t-shirt and trainers.
