QA Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RCF)

This course is the starting point for anyone involved in the delivery of learning in a variety of contexts. The course is part of the National Qualifications Framework and is set at Level 3 and replaces the old PTLLS.

What are the entry requirements?

Learners must be at least 19 years old on the first day of the training.

There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners consider a subject for delivery and hold the relevant qualifications and/or experience in their chosen area of expertise to be able to deliver it. 

We advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 2 in English, mathematics and ICT or equivalent. 

How long is the course?

The course is delivered over 5 days and consists of 35 guided learning hours.

Day 1 & 2 - Unit 1 & 2

Day 3 & 4 - Practice micro teach and unit 3

Day 5 - Micro teach assessment

We typically deliver this course in three blocks as above to allow students time for reflection and implementation of learning. A tutor is contactable between sessions for distance support, with a focus on completing the assignments. 

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed by completing a series of written assignments plus 1 practical assessment. The practical element of the assessment required participants to be involved in at least 1 hour of microteaching - including delivering of a minute microteaching session to be observed by an assessor. 

How much does it cost?

The full course fee of £350 per person + vat. This includes manuals, certification, tea/coffee and on-going support during the course.

There will be an element of independent learning to aid assignment submission. Assignments must be submitted within one month of the micro teach assessment.

From M1 motorway — from South

• Exit at Junction 16

• Follow A45 Daventry to traffic lights at Weedon

• Turn right onto the A5

• Follow the A5 north for 5 miles to crossroads

• Turn right to Long Buckby Wharf

• Turn left into green gated yard and we are directly in front of you.

From M1 Motorway — from North

• Exit at Junction 18

• Take A428 towards Northampton

• Bypass West Haddon following the A428

• After 2.5 miles turn right to Long Buckby, drive through Long Buckby Down Station Road into Long Buckby Wharf

• Turn left into green gated yard and we are directly in front of you.

From Northampton

• Follow A428 towards Rugby

• After about 9 miles turn left to Long Buckby, drive through Long Buckby Down Station Road into Long Buckby Wharf

Long Buckby is also accessible by train and bus.


Tea and Coffee will be provided throughout the day. Lunch will be provided.
